889938 - Deepwater Drilling Engineer
Our client is an international Oil & Gas company providing energy worldwide. Operating facilities and marketing products in the majority of the world's countries, they also carry out exploration for oil and natural gas in six continents.
They are currently recruiting for the post of Deepwater Drilling Engineer to be based in Nigeria.
Job Description
$1·         Responsible for preparing and revising where necessary, a complete deepwater drilling program.
$1·         Works closely with other groups to assure the program is based on all available geological information and drilling information from other wells in the area (if any).
$1·         Operation Integrity Management System (OIMS) and related requirements per company OIMS Manual.
$1·         Directional well planning and collision avoidance planning on a real time basis.
$1·         Riser tensioning program.
$1·         A weather analysis and a recommended vessel heading/ platform approach during moving in/out.
$1·         A target time-depth curve and a target cost.
$1·         Wellhead, casing and cementing program designed to meet expected conditions.
$1·         Drilling mud program designed to meet expected conditions.
$1·         Hydraulics, rotary speed and bit weight program and real time optimization.
$1·         Bottom-hole assembly program to maximize penetration rate and minimize deviation.
$1·         An assessment of special drilling problems that might be encountered and real time parameters analysis.
$1·         Abandonment program (TP&A and PA to meet DPR's requirements).
$1·         Surveillance of day-to-day drilling progress to ensure the drilling program is conducted to apply best technology and proposes modifications, if required.
$1·         Analyses drilling performance at intermediate depths and when the well is completed.
$1·         Works with Operations personnel to implement changes in procedures and equipment based on the results of this analysis.
$1·         Review retrieved managed electronic data and ensures errors found in the daily operations reports and final well reports are corrected.
$1·         Provides well-site drilling or completions surveillance and engineering assessments and supports Operations Superintendents on critical activities and problems, such as equipment failures, mud and hole problems, abnormal pressure detection, well testing and well control.
$1·         Will also provide well-site surveillance and technical assistance on development projects, equipment testing, new procedures, abnormal pressure, etc.
$1·         Preparation of cost estimates for selection of optimum alternatives.
$1·         Material and equipment selection and evaluation.
$1·         Government regulatory requirements, approvals and permits.
$1·         Technical/ commercial bid preparations and analysis.
$1·         Must keep abreast of the best available technology.
$1·         Maintain proficiency in well control technology and training.
$1·         Provides surveillance of well cost and stewardship reconciliation exercise.
Skills and Experience
$1·         Petroleum Industry Graduate to BSc level (or equivalent professional experience).
$1·         Extensive field experience in subsea design and operations.
$1·         Require excellent working knowledge of subsea wellhead drill through systems, vertical and horizontal subsea tree systems.
$1·         Essential knowledge of deep water operations on-board semi-submersible and drill ships.
Knowledge of the following subsea services:
$1·         Vertical XTs and Horizontal XTs.
$1·         IWOCS and tree installation equipment.
$1·         XT installation from rig and DSV.
$1·         Tubing Hanger installation and associated equipment.
$1·         Intervention Landing String operations - EH Deep-water systems.
$1·         ROV tooling and operations.
$1·         Wellhead installation including casing hangers and associated tooling.
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
