The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC),  a reputable electric power distribution company for the FCT, Niger, Kogi and Nassarawa States, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates. The applicants must be innovative, dynamic and sufficiently experienced in any of the following area:

Title: IT Systems Controller

Location: Abuja

Primary Duties

• The primary function of this job is to technically administer all the IT systems server environments, including databases, and to design and implement Domain information security policies to ensure security of critical business data and end user access control.
• The job supports diverse Company operations.

As IT Systems Controller, the candidate will be expected to:-

• Manage the AEDC IT Server Environment.
• Plan and implement Business Data backup and restoration.
• Originate procedures and enforce user access policies
• Implement network physical and logical security.
• Provide specialized support to an active user base.

Requirements

The candidate should have:

• A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with a minimum of eight (8) years relevant working experience.
• Analytical and strong critical thinking and problem solving.

Professional Qualifications: 

• The candidate should have the following professional qualifications with a minimum of five(5) years of practicing, and managing a server environment.
• MCSE certification. Additional MCSD C# certification would be an advantage
• CCNP (Security, Routing & Switching)with hands-on experience
• In depth working knowledge of Windows LAN/WAN infrastructure ,Cloud computing and VPN.
• Vast knowledge of various server and workstation Operating Systems especially Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux/Oracle Solaris
• Advanced and hands-on knowledge and experience in Microsoft Exchange Server 2008 email system or later version
• Practical and advanced knowledge of various IT network security systems including Internet access control
• Advanced knowledge and experience in the various Relational Database Management Systems especially Microsoft SQL and Oracle
• Experience in supporting a large and active user base. 

Personality: 

• A self-starter with "can do" attitude, efficient, result-oriented and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Not older than 38 years.
• Research-oriented.
