Job Title: Assistant Investment Officer
Reports to: Senior Investment Officer.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The candidate is responsible for executing lending activities and programs for all company products company as well as appraising viable projects and institutions, monitoring the company’s project portfolio, developing and maintaining beneficial relationships between the company and institutions in member countries in the region. In addition he/she will provide support to customers in loan application process, and carry out market research.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collection and analysis of economic, financial, legal, marketing and technical information/data required to evaluate potential lending or equity projects.
- Assist in the promotion and development of a quality lending portfolio and ensure steady flow of investments/pipeline of quality projects for funding by the company.
- Investment analysis and appraisals including presentation of proposals for management approval.
- Analyse and verify applications to determine client credit worthiness.
- Assist in structuring and development of entire platforms for product development including line of credit, joint ventures, and Public Private Partnerships.
- Process disbursements for approved loans and equity investments, and make sure that project sponsors comply with contractual obligations.
- Assist in development and negotiation of commercial terms with external parties.
- Explain the company’s product and financing guidelines to clients.
- Assist in structuring loan programme alternatives to match borrowers’ motivation.
- Research and collect data on market makers to assist in developing optimal pricing, cost and liquidity model.
- Develop and maintain appropriate database on borrowers, investors, governments, institutions and other collaborating agencies which assist in efficient management of the company’s project portfolio and related activities.

- Ability to work as part of team as well as work under pressure and to set high professional standards
- Ability to work in a multi cultural background Language, negotiating and cross-cultural skills which will enable the officer to deal and do business with customers from different cultures
- Project development and appraisal skills, including a thorough understanding of technical issues, project cash flows, risks analysis and hedging techniques
Profile
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Banking, Business Administration or related subject. A post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- Post qualification experience of 4 years (Minimum) on real estate financing, banking or related marketing and sales roles.
